Inevitably, hard times come. The trees are still green and the sky is still the same glorious shade of blue, but you have days that are blue - a creeping feeling of emptiness.
For me, deviating from my daily routine causes me to feel un-anchored. Even a few days of being subject to the whims of strangers and being confronted with the harsh reality that the way that I choose to live my life is not like everyone else's makes me over-tired. Weary and heart-sore.
At times like these, I'm desperate to find my spirit. Lord, you are faithful to your Word. You said "I will build my church." You said that grace is sufficient for each day. You brought me here to a strange land, far from my home. You know exactly where to place me. You who have begun a good work in me will complete it until the day of Your appearing.
The quote has been manna to my soul - "If God leads you to walk a way that you know, it will not benefit you as much as if he leads you to take the way that you do not know. This forces you to have hundreds and thousands of conversations with Him, resulting in a journey that is an everlasting memorial between you and Him."
