and I'm at the hospital - on call and chilling like a villain under a heated blanket. I really enjoy surgery. I like the people I've gotten to work with. They're really funny.
I think surgery allows you to be sheltered from the pain and suffering for brief moments. You get the silence of the OR and the background music of Taylor Swift gently crooning her hit "Love Story" while you open up an abdomen that is draped in such a way that you hardly recognize that there is a person attached to the intestines that you're staring at for the next two hours.
